About The Team

About the Company: We have been engaged by our client, an established and growing construction firm in Montgomery County to help them find their next Controller.

 

About the Role: Are you an experienced financial leader passionate about driving operational excellence who can oversee and enhance its finance and accounting functions? This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and help shape the financial strategy and operations of a dynamic, growing firm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
  • Collaborate closely with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Coordinate with independent auditors on annual reviews
  • Administer and manage employee benefits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Guide and mentor accounting and finance team members, fostering professional growth
  • Drive process improvements across purchasing, invoicing, cash flow, payroll, and other financial operations
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings across multiple state jurisdictions
  • Partner across departments to support data-driven decision making and operational efficiency

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership within the construction industry

 

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with financial systems, ideally Timberline, plus solid MS Office skills
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated track record of improving processes and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance
